The seemingly cursed location in Old Town finally has luck on its side with Smashboxx, a vibrant new club run by Valley nightlife veterans.
By day, Smashboxx is an upscale sports lounge and restaurant; by night, it’s a pulse-pounding, girls-dancing-on-the-booths hot spot. The lounge has a noticeably masculine feel: The 65-foot-long bar is paneled in wood, and a white ceramic horse head and black-and-white photo of Steve McQueen hang on the walls.
The club offers a video booth, the HotBoxx, where guests can divulge their secrets and answer questions for prizes. The footage later is posted on YouTube.
